I think Diary of a Wimpy Kid is quite a good book as the story-line is interesting and there are no boring bits but some of the chapters are really short and the book was not for me. This was because the writing was quite big and it only took me a short time to read. Overall I think its entertaining and would enjoy reading the series of Diary of a wimpy Kids!
Anna gave Diary of a Wimpy Kid 4 out of 5.
Jordan from Blackgates Primary
I really liked this book because it is very funny because Greg and Rowley are like normal people because lots of bad things happen to him. I liked it when Greg took some of his video games over but weren't allowed to play it because it was violent, So they took some of his little brothers game cases like: "Learn your A,B,C's with Alien Bob!" And rowley's dad said they could play it because he checked on a site to see what was on it.
The most funny things that reg and Rowley do are:
They Try to build the biggest snowball ever and they cant move it so they go inside to get some "Energy food" (Cookies) and by the time they come out Gregs dad is smashing the Snowball with a shovel.
They were bored and didnt know what to do so they decided to come up with a new game. Rowley rolls down the hill on his new bike while Greg tries to hit him with something.
He never hit him but then one time he hit his front wheel and made Rowley break his arm.
The time where Gregs brother Manny drew a self portrait on Gregs bedroom door and his parents called it "cute".
When Greg was in the practice for the play, "The wizard of Oz" He thinks he gets to throw apples at someone who he doesnt like and thinks he doesnt have to sing because he is a tree. He finds out that he has to sing and by the time he finds out it is a day before the performance. His little brother that always calls him "Bubby" Is in the audience and shouts his nickname. Greg doesnt want to be made fun of so he says to another tree, "I think he dropped an apple bubby"
I would really like to read this book again because it was funny.

at first there is a child called Greg and his friend Rowly. These kids are un-cool and Greg has a big brother called Rodrick who bullys his little brother Greg.I would give this book a five out of five because it is funny because Greg go's to a play and Greg didn't want to go to the play because you had to sing but Greg told his teacher that he wanted to be a tree because they didn't have to sing but Greg didn't know that the tree's had to sing as well.they where rehearsing and then a child falls over because he was going to pick up the apple up that fell of his branch but then he fell over and chipped his tooth because hey landed on his toth but he couldn't land on his hands because there hands where stuck in the trees so he couldn't land on his hands.I really enjoyed this book so i would like to read this book again.

At first i thought the book would be boring and rubish but now i know it is not. I like that its got pictures. My favourite character is Greg because he makes up lots of funny plans. My favourite part of the book is the part of the book where Gregs dad comes and smashes the big snowball.

This book is very good because you as a person might be able to relate to some things in the book. Greg Heffley and his friend Rodley are both very un-cool in there new high school life.
It is very funny because Greg’s parents are very strict about video games so he goes round his friends and plays the games there after he tells Rodley’s Dad that it is a very good game that helps them do work. Some things they do are:
*Rodley rolls down the hill in a go cart while Greg throws stuff at him. Usually he missed, but once he hit and
that time Rodley fell out and broke his arm.
*They try to make the biggest snow man ever but once the ball gets quite big it is impossible to move so Greg and Rodley go inside to get some food by the time they are back Greg’s dad is breaking it down so he can get his car out.
As I said at the beginning, this book is very good there is even a website if you really like the book. The website is (www.wimpykid.com) it is a very good, it has a Blog, a list of other Wimpy Kid books and an biography of the author.

I thought that Diary of a Wimpy Kid was an excellent book! It's hilarious and there's always something going on, but, I think that the author could have found a better ending. My favourite part is when they go trick or treating and they shout at the boys in the van, then the boys chase them home! It was very funny, although it wasn't very clever. I really liked all the illustrations, because sometimes I didn't understand what was happening, but the pictures helped me to understand.

I thought that this book was absoloutely awful and completely rubbish in every way. I think that younger children would enjoy it, but maybe kids that are younger that the ones on this shortlist. I think that Diary Of A Wimpy Kid is really funny book, especially when Greg's little brother Manny draws a self portrait on the door in permanent marker. Also when Greg goes to sleep over at Fregley's, Fregley chases him with a bogey on his finger; afterwards he puts it on a note and Greg touches it. The end is rubbish because it means someone eats something that is very significant to the story. Overall it is a hilarous book and it is great.
Georgia gave Diary of a Wimpy Kid 4 out of 5 and now plans to read Shadow Forest.
Zahra from Alwoodley Primary School
I read diary of a wimpy kid and I thought that it was brilliant. People would say that it had no story line but I think thats ok because it's a diary isn't it? My favourite part has got to be when Greg gets a bit of thread and forces his little brother Manny to eat it. Eventually he does eat it and then goes crying to his Mum who puts out a raisin, a grape and a seed but crafty Manny takes out an orange! I recommend this book for everyone as long as you've got a good sense of humour. Sit back and enjoy

I THINK THIS BOOK WAS VERY GOOD BECAUSE IT WAS HUMOROUS. ON NEARLY EVERY PAGE THERE WAS A HILARIOUS JOKE OR COMMENT FROM GREG. ALSO I LIKED THE CARTOON DRAWINGS BECAUSE THEY GAVE YOU A PICTURE IN YOUR HEAD TO IMAGINE HOW IT HAPPENED AND WHAT ALL THE CHARACTERS LOOKED LIKE.iT WAS QUICK AND ENJOYABLE TO READ, MY FAVORITE PART WAS WHEN ROWLEY ATE THE CHEESE AFTER IT HAD BEEN THERE FOR MONTHS!!

this book was a very humerous book.i was laughing so much,on nearly every page there was a funny joke or comment.it was a very easy word sort of book, with short words.i think this book anyone above the age of 11 could read it.its that funny.but even though it was very funny it didn't seem to have a plot,so it just seemed like loads of mini stories.
sophie gave Diary of a Wimpy Kid 4 out of 5 and now plans to read Shadow Forest.
Holly from Green Hill Primary School
I think this book is extremely funny but it had no point to it. Also, if anymore come out I might have a read and compare it with this one. My favorite part was when Manny got a tomato from the fridge, saying the spider which was actually a tiny piece of fluff was that size.
Holly gave Diary of a Wimpy Kid 4 out of 5.
Darren from Boston Spa School
The book lacked almost everything, the humour was lame and the cartoons were not that amazing. The plot was flawed in so many places but it is a very quick read and does do what it sets out to do, entertain so I would give it an OK review.

Jasmine from Boston Spa School
The Dairy of a Wimpy Kid was OK but lacked the necessary quality that I would have expected.Certain parts of the book were good but it just didn't seem to have a beginning, middle and end.The main thing that stood out to me that I liked was the way it had been set out to the reader. As a cartoon strip style book it was really good.It made up a bit for the lack of a good plot.I would read this if you were just looking for something quick and easy to read but if you want a thriller this is not the book for you.
