OK! I thought it was confusing as it did not fully explain who the characters were so you thought who is this character the author talking about.I think it was a very good storyline but it was not as good I thought it would be.I did think it was in the right age group though,it didnt really build up tension. There were a few tricky words that I didnt understand and the story didnt really move on.
On the blurb it says that with all the aches and pains but it did not describe the aches and pains in great detail like an author should do.

I Thought this book was quite tedious and the blurb over rated it as I was pretty excited about reading it ... but... it didn't fill up my expectations. This book, I think would suit people who had a lot of time to spend reading.

I didnt really like this book because it didnt make sence at the start and i had to keep on going back to the begining to check who was good and bad. i think the main plot was a good one but the book itself was very complicated. On the whole, after a night trying to understand it i got the point and i found i sort of enjoyed it.

This book is quite good but is not the best book I have read. It got a bit weird getting started when the boy, Will, got body swapped as it was a surprise even though it was in the title. Although I wouldn't rate it as good as others I would still read it again.

Katy from St Mary's C of E Primary School Boston Spa
Bodyswap was OK but I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone that wants an easy to read, exciting book because I thought that it was quite boring and very confusing, so I got muddled up a few times, also there wasn't a lot of good vocabulary. On the other hand the basic plan and structure was good, additoinally the characters were brilliant and the way the author introdused them was amazing, but after a while the description and plot got boring.

i thought this book was weird and the characters were very mysterious, when they swapped bodies he just plays along in hornbeams life without a care in the world. But at the beggining, the words were a bit complicated. We found out that the hotel in the book was based in burgh island hotel in devon
James gave Bodyswap: The Boy who was 84 3 out of 5 and now plans to read The Eyeball Collector.
Joe from Alwoodley Primary
This book can be quite confusing and exiting with mixed feelings. I think the author went through the book too quick and could of maybe written a little bit more to describe some things a bit better, like the body-swap that was confusing as it didn't describe how it happened.
L.P. Howarth is a good author because he makes a good story but makes it too fast... he could be and inspiration to some children with a different like of style than me so for that I would put it in front of a child 10+.
Joe gave Bodyswap: The Boy who was 84 3 out of 5 and now plans to read The Eyeball Collector.
Kiran from Alwoodley Primary School
I would say that this book is not very good as there is no adventure in it and the story just didn't zip. It was not a good read as well as you always wanted to put the book down. The characters are imaginative but there very rushed. I don't think the style of writing was very good as well because its all confusing and i would not reccomend it to anyone. This is an imaginative book and I can see that the author put hard work into it but I think that he could of made more detail into it.

It was a good plot, but it was a bit confusing, The mysterious parts not really mysterious at all. My fave part was when Will sees Amamth/MMantha as she really was. It was OK.

I thought Body Swap was confusing at times
The chapters were mixed up
I would recommend it to 10 year old to 13 year old
Jordan gave Bodyswap: The Boy who was 84 3 out of 5 and now plans to read The Eyeball Collector.
Zain from Alwoodley Primary School
i would rate this book 1/5 as i didn't understand it much. this is because i think the author tried to make the chapters go by quickly. one example is that Will Dudgeon, the main character just changes into an old man all of a sudden-one time he is just sitting on a stool, the next second, he is an old man. it is different to my old prediction. my old one was 'Okay' but now it is not understandable for me.
Zain gave Bodyswap: The Boy who was 84 2 out of 5 and now plans to read The TV Time Travellers.
Megan from Alwoodley Primary School
This book was great! I spotted a few mistakes e.g. there was 2 chapter 10's and 2 chapter 5's and no chapter 5 and no chapter 11 (but I guess it doesn't really matter?!) It was really good, and I was instantly absorbed into it by reading the first word: 'Will'
I've never read a book by this author before but I am definitely going to read more. In a few parts it was a bit confusing but most parts were brilliant! Also when he is in the vaults it was quite scary so maybe L.P. HOWARTH should maybe start writing horror as well!
To conclude with this is an out- of- this- world story and I thoroughly enjoyed it mostly due to the fact that it was a very unusual story that you won't ever find in any other book!
Megan gave Bodyswap: The Boy who was 84 4 out of 5 and now plans to read The TV Time Travellers.

This book was good but not the best book i've read. I thought the author did a good job on describing all the pains of bieng an old man from bieng a small boy (this made me laugh a bit)! But I Kinda felt sorry for Will because he was only 13 and then a stranger turned him into an 84 years old pensioner.
Ethan gave Bodyswap: The Boy who was 84 3 out of 5 and now plans to read The Story of Matthew Buzzington.
Craig from Ninelands Primary
I loved the book and was impressed. I like the way that the author has explained all the aches and pains of an old man as well as explaining how hard it is to be old. Actually you made me feel quite upset so well done as it is hard to do that. Unfortunatley not everything was as good as it should have been. I disagree that the author should of explained the bodyswap because then it's a mystery but I just couldn't understand the start and parts of the whole book even though I found it Interesting. I'd like the author to write a book about Horbeams life and why he started bodyswapping. Keep the bodyswapping a mystery again. Another Idea is to write about Hornbeams side of the story so you could call it ' BODYSWAP The Pensioner who was 13'

This book is very good but at the same time was a bit confusing because the author didnt introduce the characters as much,so it was like characters being introduced and you know nothing about them.
but overall its cool!

this book was very mysterious because the body change and the plot was so magical! It was a bit difficult to follow because the swap suddenly put him in a compleately different place, but I caught up in the end!The story ended brilliantly ,because it left me wondering what happened to horner and the magic mirror was exreamely strange.
Samuel gave Bodyswap: The Boy who was 84 4 out of 5 and now plans to read The Story of Matthew Buzzington.

I thought 'BODYSWAP: The Boy who was 84' was very cleverly constructed, and I congradulate the author for keeping me occupied for so long, because I just could NOT put this book down, and was sad when it finally finished, but it was not all perfect!
The storyline was exceedingly clever and increadibly original, with it's many unexpectedly sharp and exiting twists and turns and well discribed characters but, sadly, it eventually became like an impossible maze with all its unnecessary tangents and characters.
The author has spent a little too much time describing the irrelevent bits an not quite as much time describing the VERY important bits like the 'switchover'.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sorry if that makes it sound bad, but I can tell you now; "IT MOST CERTAINLY ISN'T!" Here I have a list of all the up-sides, and I'm certain it won't be long enough!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I LOVE the hilairious way Will spoke about 'Fully wedged, top dog funerals' as though he was thirteen again and talking about his next birthday party! This is only one example, and for most of it, if you close your eyes and imagine your great-grandpa talking like that, you'd burst into uncontrollable fits of laughter!
The storyline was very interesting, and I think L.P.Howarth should write some more books like that (if it's not been done already!) and should maybe write a spin-off about Mantha's life and how she became a 'Body-hopper', as that would get us all interested!
I am hoping I see a book like this soon, and am able to read it!
