This book has an amazing storyline and I loved it. The way it was written is really clever but it didn’t absorb me. It just wasn’t for me, I loved the story but the way it was written just bored me.

Mazna gave The Demon's Lexicon 3 out of 5 and now plans to read Bang, Bang, You're Dead.

James from Ossett

I thought this book was quite good, although the middle part was not that brilliant the ending was good with many twists in the story. Also the beginning of the book was also quite intresting and action packed.

I liked the look of the cover and the sound of the plot when i first picked up the book, but then i started reading and i found it hard to get through and it went on it parts. This is why i only gave it 2.

I did not think that this was a very good book. It did not keep me sucked in and I keept putting it down. I also thought that the storyline was a bit weird and didn't really get the characters. Overall it was not a recommendable book.

Hannah gave The Demon's Lexicon 1 out of 5.

I throught that this was a good book and the front cover apeled to me but i found it quite hard to get into but as the story plot moved on i started to enjoy it more.
The story plot does envolve alot of action which is exciting a the begining but it just seems to go on and on and because of that even through the writer expands the characters it becomes i little invisable.
The book was written very well but it did get hard to read in the middle and the ending i throught was abit rushed .
I would recommend it to people who like a hard read and a action packed book.

The Demons...what? Isn't lexicon to do with dictionaries, so a book on demons maybe or some sort of novel about demons yeah but where do dictionaries come into the story? I like to complain about trivial things but I'm going to stop now and go onto the storyline. The books enters action instantly which isn't always a downside but the book just keeps on going, it has action followed by action with some more action, finally some action, then romance (which lasts 10 seconds), followed by action, with a side order of action and then some more action to finish it off. Literally, this book is about 4 kids, sorry 3 kids and a wimp, going around killing demons and magacians, it's frustrating. I do like novels with action but novels require plots to be good, This book is great for kids who want books with sword fights, killings and struggles but the plot jumps in the last section of the book and doesn't make up for the previous lack of plot. The whole idea about kids who want to stop magacians chasing them is fine, but as soon as they think of "Lets kill them all", I instantly realised this novel would end in the murder of countless magacians, which is hardly original and I feel that it's killers killing killers whcih gives me a negative impression of the characters. The whole Alan and Me aren't related plot is quite nice as it gives an emotional side to the story but it only serves as something to give them more to do, now although is a much better plot then the main one, it doesn't go anywhere because it becomes obvious that Mae or someone will convince Nick to talk to them so the plot then splatters around and comes up a couple of times as a sort of second thought. The Mae romance is a bit strange but I didn't particularly notice how much it bothered me until after the novel, so nothing spectacular. The whole demon / Nick plot that pushed in at the final moment was superb but was spoilt again by the re-appearance of the Alan plot in which Alan says all the stuff about how he helped Nick and stuff meaning that nothing is learned and the wizards are killed anyway. No character is intersting, Nick is only interesting towards the end. Alan is a stereotypical good guy. Mae is a stereotypical girl for Alan and Nick to fall in love with and Jamie is a stereotypical wimp. Black Arthur is stereotypical enemy. Mum is a stereotypical mad person. They do expand as characters but the action blurs this and makes any character developement invisible. We all condemn murderers but we are supposed to accept Nick and Alan just because they're good guys even though they massacred wizards. So nice ideas, too much action, crammed in plot, strange ethics and stereotypical characters. So, I don't like it, but I think the trilogy may improve if the characters and the plot expands to something less violent.

Not one of the best books I've read as it got confusing near the middle however I do recommend this book to those who love reading all the time.

Anna from Boston Spa School

The Demon's Lexicon was a really good read, because you think you know how the story's going to go, but then as you read to the end, the story ends with a twist, as you find an unexpected fact about one of the main characters.
There were some really enjoyable parts of the book and I liked the way the book was wrote, but the ending is quite complicated, and at the end, I think its a little bit rushed!
Overall though, I really liked reading Demon's Lexicon and I would read other books in the series!

Anna gave The Demon's Lexicon 4 out of 5 and now plans to read Sovay.

Tonicha from Morley High School

I was very disappointed with this book. In the beginning, it plunged straight into the storyline, and before I knew what was happening, I was halfway through the story. Although everything was explained at the end, I was very confused whilst reading this. Some parts of the plot would have been fantastic if they had been developed, and I did not welcome all of the unexpected twists, as some of them made the whole story seem pointless.
Please do read this book and form your own opinions!!

The Demons Lexicon is a great action thriller. This book opens up a world of magicians and demons that trade for power and human sacrifice seems a steadily escalating trend. The book is about two brothers who fight together to destroy magicians and demons. The relationship among the two brothers weaves very neatly into the plot and the story is based a lot around this connection between them. The book jumps straight into the action and mystery grabbing your attention right from the beginning. Another world is built around you and the story completely away from normal life but yet they are mixed together, this gives you the feeling that anything could be real and that it may be happening right under our noses it’s just we don’t know it. The author creates an almost indistinguishable world from ours except that certain people know demons exist. The demons are so desperate to leave their plane of existence and enter ours that they’ll seduce, possess and destroy humans in the process. There are also magicians who use and abuse the demons—sacrificing people along the way—and innocent bystanders who often get caught in the conflict. Alan, Nick and their crazy mother who screams if Nick comes near her and an entire Goblin Market support-network of magician haters are all part of this magical world. Mae and Jamie, a girl Alan has his eye on and her recently demon-marked brother, stumble across a world they never knew existed. This book is quite straight forward and easy to follow with lots of action and mystery. This creates a lively book that is hard to put down. It is finished off with a crazy twist but somehow I suspected that something was not quite right. And soon it becomes clear why Nick and Alan’s mother has become so crazy. Also there are lies and deceit that leave Nick unsure what is real and what isn’t. Will Nick give in to his inner being? A Great book to read and something different with loads of action.

Suhaiymah from Roundhay High School

This was a really exciting and gripping book. I really enjoyed the beginning and think that it was an easy book to get drawn into, however, there was somewhere in the middle where the story seemed to lose its thread.
However, with many twists and shocking revelations it was a very enjoyable book. For anyone else like me who enjoys books with the supernatural and perhaps - like Darren Shans Demonata.
Overall brilliant characters and a thrilling story line.

Suhaiymah gave The Demon's Lexicon 5 out of 5 and now plans to read Bang, Bang, You're Dead.

mark from morley high

this was a kind of a weird book but was a bit funny at the begining about the pipes breaking by a sword that was kepet under it. the blurb makes it sound unbeleivable and woundn't disagree about it, it was a prity good book i just couldn't get around some of the book apart from that it was a prity good book. it also may of even had a plot twist i coudn't quit tell with how good it was.

Absolutely Amazing. A very good book about demons that are similar to the Demonata by Darren shan and you can easily get hooked if this is what you normally read.

I can't wait till i read the next book! My favourite character is Nick as he is quite a fascinating character. It is very good ending with what happens. There was a large amount of plot twists with in the book.
