This book is awesome!!! Emotional, unexpected and fabulously written. I loved it!!! And, of course Lucy is lovely :).
Ella gave Stolen 5 out of 5 and now plans to read City of Ghosts.

Stolen is not the kind of book I would normally read however it was a thrilling experience. It grabbed my full attention at the start and it did not disappoint me throughout the story.
The main character Gemma is abducted by Ty at a busy airport and taken to ‘sand, heat and danger’. This book shows you a whole different side of kidnapping and how the relationship with the captive and captor develops.
The ending of the book was an unexpected surprise and was very emotional. I thoroughly recommend this story to everyone who likes a dramatic plot and a book they can not put down. I wish Lucy Christopher all the best in the awards

I loved this book!!! It definitely belongs in the top category tough as the problems are slightly more advanced. I loved the way it was all a letter and it was really touching. This book definitely earns its 4 out of 5!!

i enjoyed seeing another side to kidnapping and the beginning got me interested however i found in the middle i felt it went on too long or nothing different happened but then at the end it got more exciting i got more drawn into the story. i enjoyed reading the end of this

WOW i absolutly loved this book. It really draws you in and gives you the feeling to read more all the way through the book. You really do get to know the characters really well and you can see points in the story were the characters really do have to make difficult diccisions like whether or not to keep their beloved or to give her away so she can live. Honestly i could'nt put the book down and the author lucy christopher did a great job. i would happily read another book of hers and that is why i gave this book a 5 out of 5!!
Brilliant!

Wow just finished reading this book and its really good.Although its quite long winded at the beginning its a lovely story to read. The characters are very well built up and you really do get to know them. The story overall isn't very complex but it grows on you as a very moving story especially as you get to the end and you find out what happens to the characters. The description in the book is also very good and you get a good sense of their surroundings even though they are in a very isolated place.Because of this the main character's thoughts and feelings make up a large part of the book and this brings the story down to Earth and also adds a very emotional side to the book. There is also very good development of characters and how they become closer together and eventually fall in love.It portrays this in a very subtle way, because of course, the main character has been kidnapped, so it is love in a different form. The ending is quite powerful as Gem (The main character) has to face up to what her captor (Ty) did.She knew it was wrong but hasn't come to terms with it.Also it shows how different life can be when you are away from everything you know and love and what it does to you emotionally. The bond between Gem and Ty makes up alot of this book, but this is the true meaning of this story so should be focused upon.It was not an easy book to follow through but was certainly worth it because it was such a thought provoking book.I really liked this book and think its a good contender for its own reasons.

Stolen is the cleverest book on this shortlist, first of all, I actually like it (people from Boston Spa School may actually be shocked). The whole plot is so amazing. The first part isn't amazing but corny, her kidnap is unrealistic but I like the rest of the book. The plot is so clever but it may be monotamous but it's amazingly clever, it doesn't bore, it just works. There is almost nothing wrong with the novel so I don't have much to talk about. It's nicely done how Gemma's opinion of Ty completely changes and unlike any book on the shortlist, you begin to change your mind too. At first, I thought it was stupid how Gemma began to feel for Ty but I did soon understand and I like how for a book, it's actually changed my opinion on something. I didn't like Ty being in England for ages and it was only used to fill up pages. I didn't like the unlikely snake bite but the rest of the ending is pure bliss, everything she says is true and the final few pages. Do I say your a monster? or Do I say your nice? I can really feel for Gemma and the final moments of this book is the best ending of a book I've read in ages. So, now that's over, I would vote for this book but I slightly prefer "City of Ghosts".

i thought that Stolen is a good book bevcause it is different from what i normally read. I found it a bit weird or different and jard to get into as it was exciting in the begining but got quite simple and boring in the long middle as it just went on and on about gemma's and ty's life as it was so boring. Then the end was brilliant but it just happened so quickly and it would be better if she went into more detail. The book was written great by Lucy Christoper as it cover a great story line and the end was written brilliantly!!!!!!!!!!!!

This book was really good I really enjoyed it!!! The first part of the book was really exiting but when it got to the middle it wasn’t as exiting. It was good don’t get me wrong I just thought it needed something but I’m not sure what it is. The way Lucy Christopher describe the desert made it seem so beautiful and special and I good see it clearly in my head. The end was just spectacular I loved it, it was so unexpected.
I would recommend this book to anyone!!!

After having read the title and seen the cover I didn't think I would enjoy the book much at all especially as I don't really like thrillers usually, but once I got into it and met the characters I was engrossed.
I felt like I needed to know about Ty's life and what he was going to do to Gemma, I needed to know when and how Gemma was captured and I needed to know if Gemma would fall in love.
Another thing I loved was how Lucy Christopher left some things to the readers imagination. Things like, without giving too much away, what happened at the end of the story, how Ty copes and what Ty is thinking throughout the book.
I would be thouroughly surprised if you hadn't cried once by the end, even iif it was just for the camel!
It was definitely one of the best books I have ever read.

stolen is a amazing book it is very different from others as it is written as a letter. it is very tense and leaves you wanting more. the main charecter gemma makes you feel sympathy for her. all the book was great especially the beggining at the ending. the ending was very unexpected and shocking. it is a great book the only problem with it is thant it didn't have any chapters although it was understandable because it is a letter. a lot of people feel sorry for ty but i had no sympathy for him infact after having read the book i hated him.
overall the book was one of the best books i have read in my life amd it amde me think a lot.

Stolen is stunning.
By far one of the best debut books I've ever read and also one of the most unqiue.
the format is unusual, but much more personal to the story and the plot line is controversial and shocking.
Set in the beautiful Australian deserts, the story unfolds beautifully and the characters are both intriguing.
Gemma is someone you can easily relate to, and with it being such a personal book, you genuinely feel you are there.
Ty is a fascinating character. Kidnappers are dangerous, hated and evil people but with Ty, you see his thoughts, his hopes, his reasons and you just cant hate him, despite what he did. It makes you feel guilty, because you know you really shouldnt like him but you cant help it.
the ending is heartbreaking and will leave you in tears :'(
a brilliant book.

I had been expecting this book to be good, because one of my friends has a very high opinion of it. Although I didn't understand the blurb very much, I started to read it and found it much better than I had expected. The plot was interesting, because people don't think about the motives or emotions of the kidnapper, but just brand them as criminals. I am not saying that what the kidnapper did wasn't wrong, but he had reasons, and this is partly what the book was about. I found that the book really covered the emotions of both parties, and it was a very enjoyable read.

it was very very good

Anna from Boston Spa School
This book is at first seemingly exciting, but then as I worked my way through to the middle I found it a bit simple and it never really changed from Gemma and Ty's daily life. I thought though, that Stolen would carry on simple to the end but the ending is never what people think as it's shocking and exciting.
The story is about a normal girl called Gemma living a normal life in London, but then her parents and her visit the airport to go on holiday where her whole life is turned around as she meets her stallker/kidnapper!
There were lots of great advantages in this book: I love the style its written in (a letter) and it was interesting to learn about the characters lives. The stories told by Ty in this story were quite emotional but they really help to understand Ty's past life!
There was one or two improvements that could be made: the middle was a little simple and not very detailed and the end happened in the space of about twenty minutes, but thats all!
Overall, Stolen was a really book and I hope I read more books like it!

This book was amazing. I found myself searching in the bookstore for a very long time, and this book on the fist sentence drew me in. I couldn't put it down and finished it very quickly. Lucy Christopher has a clear understanding of how teans think and she describes the dessert so well I feel like i'm with Gemma. The author has a very good way of changing scene and I just think she is an excellent author to write something like this.
I felt when reading the book, that I was right next to Gemma, watching everything she does and emphasizing with her. Infact when you read it, you feel yourself enphasizing with Gemma at many moments; Be it with the argument with her parent and regretting it or anything else in the book.
I very much so enjoyed reading this book and people deserve to know how good it is!

This book blew me away! It was amazing and the storyline was ...just brilliant! At points, I felt a little confused, but in the end, it all pieced together.
The storyline was so sad!!! I really enjoyed this book even though it's not in my age range. I'd definately reccomend it.
Gugandeep gave Stolen 5 out of 5 and now plans to read Bang, Bang, You're Dead.
Jordan from City Of Leeds High School
Simply the best book ever- harry potter and H.I.V.E have only just caught up wwith the level of talent in this single book (both series are still pretty good). The emotion, the imagery- everything was in the right place. The one thing that lightly bothered me was that there was no fixed conclusion, but it was realistic for a person in tha situation and so I gladly accepted it. As a debut novel, Christopher may have already penned a classic.

I extremely liked stolen lots becuase it is very gripping and exciting. The only problem is that it is quite hard to get into. I was finding a bit wierd as it says you in it lots becuse it is a really long letter to ty. Overall this book is a definite winner and I would reccommend it to my friends!!!!!!

Although the book was written differently to others I still enjoyed it. The end however disappointed me because I would have liked it to have had something more and not seem in a rush to finish.

Laura from Boston Spa School
Very good, I liked it. It was very descriptive, and really had me feeling for the characters, but I would have liked to know the path she took at the end, and what happened to the chickens!!! Overall a really good read, and it explored emotional bonds really well.
