I loved this book it was surprising especially the ending which was fantastic. The characters were realistic and that was a key point to the success of this book. Another thing I loved about this book is that it was short and sweet. I would recommend this book to anyone.

This book was exciting to read. I like the part where Mia finds out that she has been seeing hallucinations of her dead twin brother who died at birth. I also like the part where she finally finds her dad. This book was absolutely amazing!

A very good book. It is about a girl called mia with a twin brother. Their mum has bad mental health, which causes her moodswings. One day, her twin threatens to do something bad. Then a gunman turns up at school... A twisted ending makes a very interesting read!

one word fabulous! this book is amazing. i love the way the author wrote the book and i think it is a book that does deal with issues. I didn't get confused when it wentfrom the past to present as i through it gave you more information about the characters and i love how the author wrote about Mia's mum's illness. i loved this book and think that it is a real winner. i got into this book really quickly and could not put it down and i enjoyed reading it as it had a shocking twist which you could expect when you are reading it. It was brilliant in the way that the author described how the characters were felling and i felt like i could put myself in their shoes and make the exactly the same descisions. I would recommend this book as it is an enjoyable book and it has a good story plot with it.

"Bang, Bang, Your Dead" - well I was dead of boredom until the final two chapters. So, this book has 3 plots - 1 amazing, 1 alright in places and 1 utterly awful so I'll discuss them seperately. The awful one was the gunman plot, it was a bit contrived and I didn't like Mia that much. Mia defeating the gunman was uninteresting and I found it strange and boring how she managed to defat him and the plot was stupid. She was all on her own, she managed to get all the way there and the plot somehow stretched out over so many pages, it was repititive, unoriginal and had a couplke of redeeming features such as Mia almost being killed and the killer being an ordinary stupid boy which was an totally unexpected twist just as I was convinced it was going to be Jamie (which would have led to a predictable moral choice for Mia). The 2nd plot about all the flashbacks was fine as itself but was corny and didn't give much insight to either character. Jamie appeared as a stupid boy who seemed a bit strange, violent and annoying whereas Mia was more annoying because she did nothing except moan and seem a bit strange. Their mum was very strange but mad, whcih is a topic done regularly and much better in books written by Jacqueline Wilson and other authors (don't ask why I've read them because I don't like them either!)The whole final 2 chapters increase this book from 0/10 to 4/10. The whole plot was amazing, it gave the story something it could concentrate on, by far the best twist in any novel I have read in ages, it was pure excellance as it gave something strange werid and didn't require too much of the novel, in fact it stood out because it only took up a few pages and made Mia sound mad yet normal. nice effect, although it did contradict so much of the novel, it worked well.
So, nice ending, bad story.

very very good for me it was a winding psychological laborinth but also i think it should be in the 11 to 14 age group

Really enjoyed this book. i immediately was drawn into the story line and was completely surprised by the ending. I really liked how Dhami portrayed Mia's character because she showed her not just to be a quiet, frightened girl but also to be unpredictable.
Would definitely recommend this book to a friend!

The first thing I noticed about this book was the cover. The image of a "Warning, children" sign made me want to read it. The plot was good, and the use of flashbacks was well done, however one thing was wrong with it. It seemed to completely change style in the last 10 or so pages! It started off as a phycological thriller, and ended up with the main character being insane and another main character either not existing or being a ghost - kind of different to the start.

Bang your dead didn't really portray itself very well on the blurb which put me off slightly but when i read it was very intresting and i loved the way Narinder left subtle hints that their was something wrong with Jason and Mia but the ending was a bit silly because the fact that Mia thinks a ghost can partake in gun crime.

Tonicha from Morley High School
When I first picked up this book, I didn't really want to start reading it. The title and the cover art really put me off reading it, but I decided to give it a go. When I first started reading, I found the storyline interesting, particularly because of the flashbacks throughout the book. Whilst I enjoyed reading these flashbacks, they were always sprung on the reader in the middle of a really tense, gripping portion of the book. Narinder Dhami really managed to make the twins seem similar, and yet made their differences really obvious.
The twist at the end was really unexpected, but the way the author worded the first couple of sentences meant that it took me a few minutes to understand what had happened. It was only then that I noticed the in-depth study of the main character's emotions, and that this study was pretty much the whole point of the book.
In conclusion, this book had a good storyline, but it dragged on a bit too much in unimportant places, and when the author was close to creating tension, it was spoilt by flashbacks.

This book is a very intresting book that involves a person called Mia who thinks the gunman who came into the school was her brother but actully her brother dosent exsist and its in her head.... Overall i rate this 4/5

I didn't like it becasue it dragged on after it told you one peice of information. But the story line wasn't too bad . If it hadn't have dragged on i believe i would have like it better. It really ddin't suit me but it may suit someone who likes books like that.

I liked the psychology and the twist at the end. I also liked the difference between the twins. I did not like the length of the book as it seemed too short.

I think that Bang, Band You're Dead is a really great and exciting book because of its exciting storyline and unimaginable ending!
The story was about a girl who had a twin brother. Then at school they find a gunman and everything goes crazy!
I can think of endless good points about this book: the storyline is excellent and keeps you reading till you finish the book. I also love the way the author wrote the book and I was never confused or lost.
The one point I can think of is the fact that its a bit too short for me and it could have maybe been a bit more descriptive and longer!
Overall though it was a great book and I would like to read some of the authors other books to compare!

Jordan from City Of Leeds High School
I thought it was really good. The only thing that brought it down was the whole split personality plot- it just had too many lose ends. I loved the action in it; it was like a realistic movie. I didn't acctually like the main character because of the whole lack of backbone, but I understood that she'd been grinded down for years on end so that was a strong point of the book too I guess.
1 last thing; I like how the author kept the book flowing, with the mystery and flashbacks. I also like that most of the book happened in the space of ten minutes. Now that is DETAIL.

Harriet from Roundhay
When I first started reading this book i thought it would be good but when i got into it more and more i thought more of it and once i had finished it i thought that it was one of the best books i had ever read. I think it's very clever how Dhami brings up the problem early on in the book but doen't give away the answer till right at the end! I was so surprised at the ending it was something that i did not expect! I definitly reccomend this book to everyone!

'Bang, bang, your dead!' is an amazing story of a girls life and how it changes one day at school. It is a book I could read again and again, if you love a story with a sting in it's tale, you'll love this one! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a twist in a story!!!

Gheorghe from Boston Spa School
It was absolutely an amazing book. I loved the way it kept switching back and forth between the two times, both seemingly unrelated save for the people involved - albeit at different ages - before tying together at the end. Speaking of the end, the ending was absolutely THE LAST THING I would have thought of - I had to read it twice before it properly sunk in.
I could relate to the characters really well, and their feelings and emotions were described really well, because my mood changed accordingly, depending on where I was on this book.
Really good. ;)

When i first picked up this book, it was with another competition so it was only half of the proof copy. I speculated reading it a couple of times and when I finally got round to reading it was totally hooked. The librarian at my school ended off printing the end off the computer so we could both read it we wanted to now how it ended soooo badly! It was really worth it as the ending was completely different to what we expected. It is very simply written and this made it easy to read. I think alot of people who read this book could relate to some of the issues bought up in the story line and it i sad that some are in ceasing. this book is fast paced and a big issue is completely flipped at the end of the book and is completely unexpected. It comes at you from behind and jumps and completely flips the whole meaning of the story. i would recommend this book to everyone and anyone.

This book is great! The plot was really hard to work out as it had so many twists and turns. The end turned out to be the last thing I expected and it was full of suspense. I couldn't put it down at all. The characters' feelings were pertrayed amazingy and you felt like you were really there. I would definately reccommend this to everybody who enjoys a great book!

Jasmine from Boston Spa School
Bang Bang Your Dead is a very powerful book, it shows just how hard life can be in any school and what the teenage years can be like.It portrays this in the worst case sinario however this sort of violence is becoming more and more regular in modern day society. The book also shows the stresses that are put on children and how some cannot cope with the ever amounting pressures of home and school. In this case it shows the deterioration of one of the main characters in the book. This leads her to do, think, and feel things differently affecting her judgement which is clouded by everything that is going on.She expresses these through other means but you will find that out in the book yourself. This book was simpily written so it got the point across plain and simple which makes this have greater impact on the reader. Most people can relate to a certain aspect of this book because varying levels of this happen in many schools today, from fighting to knife crime. It akso has a sharp twist in the plot that you would never have seen coming unless you've been told!I really liked Bang Bang Your Dead and would recomend it to everyone to read.
